LJR Arts Academy – Operation Make It Count Reaches Youth Through the Arts During Pandemic

March 11 12:49 2022

LJR Arts Academy’s award-winning program has triumphed over numerous hurdles during a decade-long challenge to serve youth in marginalized communities. Going to great lengths to ensure that students have access to the arts as a diversion away from crime and violence, LJR has offered programming to include music, art, dance classes, performances, recitals, and art shows to engage the youth of San Bernardino in the enthralling lure of the arts. Since the beginning in 2010, the Academy’s founder, Lynnzora Rogers, has found a way to cater to the needs of the students, catapulting over hurdle after hurdle to successfully bring magic to these communities year after year.

However, for LJR Arts Academy, the Corona Virus Pandemic presents the  ngreatest hurdle to date in serving the underserved. Without being able to come together for classes, this community resource was stifled in fluidity. Albeit, like all superheroes do, LJR Arts Academy found a way to save the day. Recognizing that even during quarantine, for their students, time still moves on. So they chose to make every second count. “Operation Make It Count” is a free online community that consists of arts related courses, inspirational projects, training, and professionals who are there to keep kids inspired, learning, and growing during the pandemic and beyond.

This jewel of a program shines the light on a path for youth to impact the world through the creativity and splendor of the arts in one of the world’s most challenging times in modern history. As with all great missions, many hands make the load light. Community support garners enormous appreciation from the leadership and all staff members. Community support is at the heart of LJR Arts Academy. Individuals who are eager to reach today’s youth through the arts, can support in several ways. Donations are always welcome. Additionally, those who are creative and interested in sharing their gifts with a group of kids who will soar employment and volunteer applications are open. This and much more is available at LJR Art Academy’s website.
